What A Bear Wants

Ahoy hoy!--took that from Bills, don't tell her. I've got a treat for you lovely people. A peek into my newest tale, "What a Bear Wants." I'm going to be candidly honest when I say this story was the source of angst, laughter, frustration and many, many rants from mine mouth to the ears of my two partners in crime at Weyward Thoughts. They have no choice but to listen to me, I force feed them my neurosis. But I've discovered something rather wonderful, even the stories that make you just a bit insane will always have a special place inside the beating thing that pumps blood. With that being said, here's an excerpt that involves a bear, a wolf, and his lack of wardrobe...

Excerpt:

There was a bear on her porch. Not a teddy bear with a top hat and dead eyes...but an actual bear...sitting there. Fifteen hundred pounds of grizzly ass was calmly resting against the strong wood of her front steps and Fallon didn’t know whether to turn and run away or attempt to find Gladys. She did neither; she just stood there, staring.
When that started to bore her, she calmly folded her arms across her chest and asked, “Is there something you’re trying to communicate to me by doing this?” Clearly it always had to be the extreme with Ransom and it was obvious that the big bastard noticed she’d been going out of her way to stay away from him over the last few days. Fallon figured she’d be able to keep the routine up since his week at Wilder Lodge was almost up and their supposed meeting wouldn’t be until Friday. She’d been disappearing early in the morning and coming back as late as possible; making sure to stay out of sight and out of mind.
It was almost three a.m. The rest of the Lodge silent as every predator returned to their respective cabins; any hunting or mating that had taken place wrapped up and put away for another night. Fallon had spent the day taking a drive through the mountainside, trying to resist the pull to come back and seek out the giant-sized mammal currently gazing at her silently; fathomless brown eyes glinting in the lone walkway lights in front of her cabin. It wasn’t hard to figure out how he’d found it. All he’d had to do was follow her scent far enough away from the main area of the Lodge and here he was.
Goddammit.
“It’s late and I’m getting crankier by the minute, Ransom, what do you want?” She shoved her hands in her back pockets, more so to keep him from noticing the way they trembled. God, what the fuck was wrong with her? A few minutes in his presence and she turned into some pup who hadn’t reached her first heat yet. The fact that he could have that effect, that he could make her crazy without really trying, disturbed everything inside of Fallon’s A-type personality. Control. She had to get some control.
Finally Ransom shifted and sat back, leaning on his elbows as his gaze raked over her. She kept her eyes on his face and his face only because if she allowed them to venture any lower, she’d be lost. Control.
“You’ve been hiding from me.” He accused.
She bit the inside of her cheek. “I don’t hide from anybody at any time.”
His head cocked a bit. “And yet, you’ve been scurrying off every day, away from me and everyone else, like a hare that knows it’s being watched by a fox.”
Her eyes narrowed on him. “And I take it you’re the fox?”
Ransom’s smile was...feral. It sent a shudder down her spine that had nothing to do with fear or revulsion. The walls of her sex clenched and she barely stopped herself from letting out a startled yip when he suddenly stood and her eyes caught sight of the effortless beauty his body held. There were so many scars along with what looked to be tattooed paw marks that stretched from his left hip all the way up his hard bricked torso and across his chest just to stop at his right pec. Every part of him was tan and strong.
He wasn’t bulky but he wasn’t slim either. She couldn’t even describe him as having a linebacker’s body. There was muscle stacked on top of muscle but so proportionate that it didn’t look unnaturally formed.
His shoulders were incredibly wide, as was his chest, leading to a defined stomach, cut pelvis, lean hips and huge thighs that ended in well-developed calves and long feet. The man was...perfection. And the tree trunk that lazily hung between his legs? Well that was just...it was unfair. For a brief moment she asked herself who would be brave enough to attempt placing that in any orifice on their body.
Me. I’d do it. I’d go where no sane she-predator has gone before. I’d break him and his giving tree.
Apparently he was more than a little comfortable with his body because he made no attempt to cover it, just came down the stairs and stood before her in all his naked glory.
So should I just bend over now or...? No! No you will not! Get your eyes off his cock! Now! Right now goddammit!
Fallon swallowed, looking away from Ransom’s clear lack of modesty towards the sky. “Nothing even adjacent to a fuck is being given by you right now.”
He snorted. “Do I have something to be ashamed of?”
She tucked her lips in, refusing to answer that.
Ransom stepped closer and moved his head over her own until she looked at him. “Why are you hiding from me?”
“I’m not—”
“Don’t bullshit me.” He cut in before she could finish. “You’ve been on ninja stealth mode for the last three days.”
“Which is your business how?”
His brow quirked just the tiniest bit.
Fallon threw up her hands. “Maybe I haven’t been around because I don’t like you and I’m counting down the days until you’re off my territory.”
He nodded. “Maybe...or maybe you like me too much and you’re trying to bypass the attraction the both of us feel when we’re near one another.”
That hit too close to home. “I don’t even know you.”
Ransom shrugged. “You know enough.”
Taking a step backwards as he took one forward and the scent of tea tree hit her squarely in the face, she gritted out, “What is it that you want from me?”
He stared at her for the longest time. “Do you really want the answer to that question?”
“Yes.”
The look he gave her made her incredibly uncomfortable, like my pussy requests permission to borrow your face for a moment uncomfortable. Then he answered, quite simply, “You, Fallon. I want you.”  With one hand he reached out and ran his thumb over her bottom lip and that simple touch alone caused her lids to slide close. “From the moment I saw this mouth all I wanted was you.”

God Bless America...

(murmuring) And the photographer who graciously used their talent to take that photo so it could be shared with myself and all the other sexual deviants like me...
Annnnnd back to the subject matter at hand. No, no, eyes up front! Stay focused! I'm attempting to make this as short as possible so you lovely people can do me the honor of purchasing and enjoying my newest tale. I have to be honest here, this one was a bit of struggle; slightly out of my comfort zone even. Particularly because these two characters managed to break my heart and mend it all over again through every chapter.
Coming from a family full of Marines and Navy men, I know first hand the struggles of being a soldier. Or better yet, being the spouse of a soldier, the father of a soldier, the mother, brother etc. It is, by no means an easy ride. And well, I found myself trying to find humor in something that could be devastating.
Not all military stories have happy endings. Not all men and women get to come home whole. It took me a while before I was able to place the beat of my own drum against the base of Zuly and Fitz's; before I was able to truly appreciate what my own characters were teaching me. Love knows no bounds.  If I didn't realize that before, I suddenly took time enough to wipe my tears and evaluate that very thing after they were done with me. A SEAL's Heart is close to MY heart and I hope that it becomes close to your own.

Excerpt:

Fitz let her go, shaking his head. “I’m not doing this with you.” He picked
up his cane and started around her.
“Yeah, that’s right,” she mocked with a glibness she didn’t really feel.
“Walk right past Zuly because she’s your favorite toy. Because she’ll always be
there for you to fall back on. Because you don’t really give a fuck how she feels.
Because you’ll never love her the way she loves you...”
Zuly could sense the moment it happened; the moment she pushed too
far.
He stopped in his tracks, shoulders tense as his cane once again hit the
ground, fists clenching at his sides. Fitz turned slowly and grabbed her to him
with a quickness that took the breath from her lungs. She had a second to
search his face. “Fitz?”
Staring down at her, shadows playing against his features, Fitzgerald
Donahue Carrigan leaned in and kissed her. It wasn’t light. It wasn’t sweet. It
wasn’t romantic. There was a deliberate roughness in the way he pressed his
mouth to her own; in the way he pried her lips apart with his tongue and swept
it inside.
Zuly’s hands fisted in his shirt once again then went lax as she melted
against him, his arms caging around her as he pulled her body just that much
closer. One huge hand let go of her biceps to reach up and run through her
hair, gripping the strands firmly and pulling her head back for his assault as
he nipped her lips, sucking the bottom rim into his mouth then releasing it
with a wet pop. The slight sting at her scalp failed to even register as he licked
and nibbled his way up the side of her neck, gently gripped where her pulse
hammered between his teeth. His other hand swept down her back and to her
ass, squeezing in a firm caress that had Zuly panting with the exertion it took
not to fall at his feet.
He kissed her like he owned her. Like he knew every secret valley and
plane her body possessed. Like she’d been fantasizing about from the time she
had her first self-produced orgasm while calling his name. Like he’d been
waiting to do this for years. Fitz kissed her like she was his. And Zuly would
acknowledge that, in this moment, she very much was. That right now she
could never imagine the feel of another’s touch.
Then suddenly he stopped and she whimpered.
Pressing the same mouth that had stolen her ability to process what just
happened to her ear, he whispered, “I love you more than you’ll ever be able to
grasp. So much so that it’s almost biblical in its proportions. So much so that
it could make God jealous. I smile for you. I laugh for you. I breathe for you.
You hold me in the palm of your hand, Zuly. And there is no place else I’d
rather be. But you need to go back. Now.” Fitz gently but firmly pushed her
away from him and walked away.
     This time, she let him.

Now This Is A Story...

All about how...No, no, I'm not rapping. That is not happening. Why? Because its too early and I'd never have anyone visit my blog ever again...like ever. Now, on to more important manners! Did yah miss me? Who are we kidding of course you did!!! Why? Because the sunshine that is me is quite pleasant no? Yes! I owe you people an explanation as to what it is you're currently witnessing to the left of your lovely screen. Shara made me do it! No, seriously, the woman's a menace! She harasses, she bribes, she threatens to MDK the whole east coast--eventually, you count your losses and just give in, too afraid to pull out of the garage in the morning. Seriously...she frightens me. Have you ever seen a fox stalk a hare? People, I'm the hare. Unfortunately she'll simply give an innocent blink and pretend as though she doesn't rule with a steel spike on her boots and leather in her whip. You're gonna tell her I said that aren't you? Traitor! And now that my ADHD has run it's course, I'd like to tell you a bit about the lovely Luciano "The Philly Brawler" Antonelli and his lady love Samara Blackwell--who BTW has a nickname too but it really is early and I really am too scrambled to remember it. These two were a emotional roller coaster of laughs and tearful moments; tearful because sometimes I can be made into a beeyotch by my own story lines. And the insanity that seemed to latch itself onto their tumultuous, confusing, physics defying relationship by way of friends and family really did make me chuckle at the oddest times. All in all, I used the right word when I called this a roller coaster ride. Why? because no matter how many times you scream, you throw your hands up, you have a near death experience. You want to get back on again, and again, and again...
Wanna read it do you? Of course you do! Calm yourself. All you have to do is click the cover to get to the buy link! But it doesn't stop there! Here's a wonderful excerpt to get your juices...er flowing? Was that the word I was looking for here? (shrug) Guess so. Hehehe...juices...

Excerpt:

Heavy brows drew downward as his amber eyes gazed at her unflinchingly, and the moment they slid from her face down to her torso, her stomach dropped. He knew. He knew because he’d heard and he was...
She couldn’t read his expression, didn’t know exactly what he thought, but when he returned those oh, so familiar irises to her own something ignited inside like her body recognized exactly who was standing in front of it. Samara swallowed to retain moisture in her mouth, the shouting match between Nyssa and Sansone turning into something muffled, sounding almost like the teachers on Charlie Brown.
“Yo!” Luciano suddenly snapped, causing her to jump as he pointed toward their siblings. “You two shut it.” He looked back to her. “You. Bedroom. Now.” Stepping past her, he strode toward the back as if he owned every square foot not only of her condo but her.
Samara stood there, watching his powerful steps, staring at the way his shoulders rolled with every step.
“Now, Sammie,” he demanded again without turning around, his voice casual.
Chewing her lip, she followed. When she reached her room, he was leaning against the wall near the door, something small in his hand. She sucked in a huge breath when she realized it was the ultrasound picture. Samara had set it out so she could frame it later.
The door closed with a soft click behind her. His doing. She would’ve kept it open, too terrified to stay anywhere alone with him not knowing what it was he was about to say or how he’d heard about the accidental announcement so fast. Not only that, but how exactly had he managed to drop everything and come all the way to Manhattan? Why had he dropped everything to come all the way up to Manhattan?
Was he here to tell her to her face that he didn’t want anything to do with her or the baby? Maybe he was. Maybe he resented her. Maybe he’d never had plans for a child. Maybe he’d walk out and never speak to her again. Did it make her weak that she didn’t think she’d be able to handle any of those scenarios? Was she stupid because all she really wanted was to hear him say he’d be here, that he was happy despite the unusual circumstances? Maybe. Or maybe she was human and a little vulnerable and simply wanted him not to regret the one night they’d had, because she’d never regretted it, and she never would. How could she? It had been one of the best times in her life. Point. Blank.
Samara lifted her chin and folded her arms across her chest, determined to live with whatever was about to leave his mouth. If she had to, she’d do it alone. It would be hard, that much she knew, and she’d probably cry and have to keep Nyssa from nuking all of Philly in a homicidal rage, but so be it.
Luciano straightened and walked toward her, eyes still on that ultrasound. When he finally lifted them, there was an inexplicable emotion in his gaze that took her breath away. Then his lips curved until they spread into a full-blown smile right before he was laughing. “When I asked if you wanted an Antonelli inside you this isn’t exactly what I meant, but I do believe it’ll do me just as much good.”
That was when Samara burst into tears.

I'm Kissing AND Telling...MUAHAHAHA

Oh dear lord, how long has it been since I actually used this goddamn thing? Oh wait, not that long. Just few days ago. Hmmm, who tricked me into blogging?! Oh yes it was Janet, otherwise known as the Carebear of Debauchery. Yes that is her official title. No, she has no problem with it. Yes, she wears it with pride. (rubbing temples) Okay what was my point here?

(snaps fingers) Feck...I thought I had it and...ah there it goes! I've been writing! (jazz hands) Not impressed? Yeah, me either. Its kind of my job and everything you know? Blah, blah, blah. To produce interesting hilarious shizz for the masses and watch them enjoy the hotness and joy that I bring when I allow my fingertips to tickle the ivor--er--keyboard. So here I am again, my muse in full play and bringing me some of my best work yet.
Grand isn't it? I think so. (rubbing hands together) My recent project? Oh just an extremely gorgeous, alpha, cranky Samoan fireman with lots of cocky. See what I did there? (eyebrow waggle) Oh c'mon! That was gold people! GOLD!!! (sigh) Whatevs. Said fireman was one of my most beloved of characters from my newest work "Kiss and Tell." Why you ask? Because he's insane! Insanity and I blend well. Very well. Should I be admitting that? No, no, probably not. I don't want to be committed...they tried...once. Stop judging me!
Okay, the thing is I'm taking a page out of the book of the great Billy London, mainly because she's awesome at what she does as are many of the writers I know but Billy has the special brand of zaney humor that leaves me wide eyed and highly amused. Kind of like when I set flame to something. Yeah, once again, that's probably something I shouldn't admit. Anyways! Billy did something I found amazing. She interviewed one of her male leads and it was, needless to say, hilarious as shit. After I read it, Maikao Iona--my fireman--started bugging me to give him a chance to speak publicly about the tribulations of being in love with your bestfriend. Now mind you, his story is finished and in the process of edits therefore this interview will give you a quick glimpse of my favorite man thus far.
Ah, yes, before I introduce you to him I'd like you to direct your attention to this link here just for a moment--http://sobillysaysshesays.blogspot.com/2011/11/interview-with-zombie.html--because when I was younger my mother used to recite this verse from the bible that basically said "Give honor where honor is due." Or was that out of a self help novel? Maybe a cookbook? (shrug) I dunno. I said stop judging me! Once again, back to the point that I keep losing. That link up top (gestures to it) Is what will take you to Billy's blog and her interview with Novak the Zombie for your viewing pleasure. No, no, don't click it yet! Wait until I'm done holding your attention with adorable anecdotes. And here we go:

NW: This is how this interview is going to go Mak. You will answer what I ask you, in a manner that is respectful and attractive. At no point shall my panties be mentioned in this.
MI: But--
NW: What did I say? Want me to write you in a short where Addison gets the urge to fulfill those long time threats of kicking you in the--
MI: (winces) No, no, lets not do that.
NW: (nods) Good. Now lets get started shall we?
MI: (eyeing me) Like I have a choice...
NW: What was that?
MI: (innocent blink) Nothing.
NW: (smirk) How about you tell everyone a little about yourself?
MI: Are we talking about the Mak that you created before I fucked Addie in the elevator or...
NW: Maikao!
MI: What?! It was a serious question! I sincerely want to know if you think the people should be aware of who I was before.
NW: (growl) Talk to them about who you were before you and Addie made love--
MI: (chuckle) Oh no, we fucked. You made us fuck. Admit it.
NW: I am two seconds off you having a tragic accident that leaves you a eunuch and Addison looking for another love.
MI: (snort) As if she could...
NW: Maikao...
MI: (sigh) Alright, alright (eye roll) I was what you love to refer to as a "man-whore." I enjoyed my fair share of the opposite sex and then one night this zaney, adorable little woman with her ass hanging halfway out of her gown because of an unfortunate incident that we still don't know the origin of, came along. (small smile) I was lost. I started to make a move on her then I realized I couldn't. Not because she kind of scared me--although she did--but because she wasn't like the others. She was my friend before I knew it. I loved her laugh and her smile and her intellect. She had a way about her that excited me and frightened me. I didn't have a goddamn clue what to do when she decided she wanted to start dating the man who's like a brother to me.
NW: Did you know you were in love then?
MI: (shakes head) I had no idea. I just understood that whenever I was near her, she made me feel...
NW: Right?
MI: Yes. (nod) And horny...really horny...
NW: My God man can you just keep the sexual details to yourself?
MI: It's your fault! You wrote me to bleed machismo. (brow waggle) Allow the people to enjoy it.
NW: What you bleed is assholery.
MI: (pout) That's not nice.
NW: Neither is what I'm going to do to you if you don't straighten up.
MI: (lip twitch) Why Nikki, are you flirting with me? Because it feels like you're flirting with me.
NW: Oh dear lord...
MI: I mean I'm flattered but my wife--the one you wrote who's constantly threatening my balls--may take issue with that.
NW: And this conversation is over...
MI: Wait! Let me tell them about the rabbit!
NW: (points to door) Get out Mak.
MI: But...but...
NW: I made you a fireman right?
MI: (nod) Correct.
NW: Do you know what my nickname is among my fellow authors?
MI: (brow raise)
NW: (whispers) The Pyro.
MI: (stands) And I'll just be saying good-bye now.
NW: Oh but Mak, I thought you had more to say?
MI: (heading for door) No, no, it's fine.
NW: You'll be back at some point right? (big grin) Or at least you'll send Eli?
MI: (snort) That asshole doesn't know how to entertain the way I do.
NW: (smirk) That's not the opinion Addison had at one point now was it?
MI: (frown) Low blow Nikki, low blow.
NW: (chuckle) Sorry, I couldn't help it.
MI: (shakes head) No. Too late. I'm gone. I'll speak to you again when you learn how to not damage my poor wounded heart. (mock sniff) I'm going home to my wife...for some therapy...and snuggling...and dirty stuff brought on by the snuggling...
NW: (still laughing as the door slams)

And there it is folks. Maikao "Mak" Iona. He along with the love of his life will be making their literary debut soon enough. There was naughty jokes and funny innuendos along with the threats of important bits and plenty of steamy scenes to keep you right on the edge of your seat and wanting more. If that glimpse of the funny Fireman wasn't enough for you, just stay tuned because despite what he says, he'll be back. And he's bringing a few friends with him...

A Heart Shaped Hogan by RaeLynn Blue

Anybody but me just love tiny people? Mainly because when you're only average height they make you feel like a giant. Rae is one of those tiny people even though she has a big presence. Every time I got to stand next to her at the Meet and Greet, smiling was inevitable because she's so cute. Irony of ironies? Even though I stand over her by at least a foot she calls me "Little one" but it doesn't bother me considering the fact that she's one of my many big sisters and nicknames from them are more than welcome. Anyways, I said all of that to get to the point that Rae doesn't just have a big presence in person but she also has one in writing. Her style is versatile, almost chameleon like. She fits into the Scifi spectrum with ease since its one of her favorite genres. She also does paranormal well and last but not least, romance. One of her latest shorts was centered around none other than the grand Valentine's Day. In A Heart Shaped Hogan we get a glimpse of two familiar faces that you might recognize from previous tales like Lasso A Lover and Something Deeper: Cashmere Sky, Lee Stone and Tank Begaye. Lee's not your typical girl so she doesn't want the typical Valentine's Day. The regular card, candy, teddy bear just won't do. Can't say I disagree. I think everybody wants something that took some serious planning and consideration for their special day. Being that Lee and Tank have had one disastrous V-Day after another she just wants ONE that goes perfectly. What she doesn't know is Tank has all that she needs in store for her. Although this is a short, as usual Rae managed to get in a great back story, character personas that MAKE you like both Lee and Tank, and even more importantly A LOT of heat. Valentine's Day may have long passed but you can still catch the love bug with this sweet tale of two lovers who just want a day where things go right.

Wrangling Letty by Drea Riley

I'm not even gonna make small talk here folks because I'm too busy being infactuated with the dynamic duo that is Leticia "Letty" Cloudwalker and the oh so desirable Jeramy Saldana. If you've read Slow Bucking than you got intorduced to Regina Cloudwalker's very outspoken and incredibly funny cousin and business partner, Letty. I do believe you also got to hear a little of what she and Jeramy, her and Regina's former foreman, liked to do with their spare time when the barn was empty and the mood was right. In this lovely ditty you catch up with the secret couple a few years down the line to find that Jeramy is struggling with finally accomplishing his dream to have a ranch of his own meanwhile Letty's struggling with whether or not she should take her relationship with the cowpoke any further. Being that she needs someone to take over Regina's side of their ranch since her cousin married off before getting good and pregnant and Jeramy actually NEEDS to get married to appease his crazy old ornery uncle in order to get his inheritance so he can finally afford to have a ranch, Letty does the unthinkable and proposes that they get married. Jeramy's hesistant at first because he doesn't think Letty realizes the extent of how much he truly loves her. So much so that he passed up another good woman who would've been perfect for their odd situation because he just couldn't see himself being with anyone else BUT Letty. Now Jeramy has a year to prove that he wants so much more than a business relationship with his former boss while desperately trying to achieve all his goals. Unfortunately for Jeramy he doesn't realize he's accomplishing one but failing at the other until Letty decides to teach him a little lesson on how to properly appreciate a loving wife--even if they got married for all the wrong reasons to begin with. Letty takes off leaving behind a ransom letter of her own making, fully expecting her cowboy to take a hint and come scoop her up so they can ride off into the sunset. While Jeramy fully intends to find his wife, he's not so sure they'll be riding off anywhere. Mainly because as far as he's concerned Letty may not be able to sit on a chair for a week after he tans her ass good and proper for ever doubting how much she means to him. Ranch work forgotten, Jeramy has only one goal, wrangling Letty. C'mon and take the wild ride that is Drea's prose folks. You know you wanna.

B-Rated Valentine by Naomi Jones

And I'm BACK!!!! Hello world!!! Did you miss me? Of course you did! I mean seriously, who wouldn't? I bring joy and light wherever I go and if you happen to be someone who disagrees with that fact you can squarely kiss my ass. Now, enough about me. Time to get down to business. What business would that be you ask? REVIEWS!!! Why? Because I've been slacking on them as of late and I'm surprised my corner is still intact. To kick this party off we're gonna start with B-Rated Valentine by Naomi Jones. If you know NJ then you know she has a love for those really bad B-rated movies that premiere on Syfy every week. I dunno why but the mutilation of humans by the claws, fanged mouths and or other dangerous body parts from lab created monsters seems to really make her day. Hence the name of her first story at BTP. So I have a question. Anybody ever experience the perils of having an asshole for a spouse who you can't seem to shake and they're standing in the way of the person you're REALLY supposed to be with? I do believe we've ALL had that problem at time...or two...some of us three but I'm not judging, I'm just pointing it out. Funny thing is Naya Hamilton just so happened to have that same issue. An asshole for a boyfriend who couldn't see past his own insecurities for just a few minutes and appreciate who and what he had in a relationship. Really sad that Dagger Romero--gorgeous wolf shifter--and close friend of Naya had to step in and save the day. Dagger's always had a thing for Naya. She aroused more than his body, she captured his heart. So when Naya's little pipsqueak of a human asshole gives her an ultimatum to either choose him or her academic career and she chooses her academic career, Dagger sees this as the perfect opportunity to make all his wolfie mating dreams come true. Every thing just falls perfectly into place when with the help of Naya's older sister, Regine, he finds out his soon to be mate is taking a vacation in Regine's cabin. The only question is, can he convince Naya to be his B-Rated Valentine? This story had just the right amount of what I like to call "giggle and sigh." Its when you alternate every other page between giggling and sighing at how adorable Dagger's canine like persistence is. Add that to the fact that it's not HIS tail he's chasing and you have a recipe for some surprising heat. My recommendation? Find a corner and get to reading.

Ronni's Romanian by Nevea Lane

Look at me I'm on a roll today! Second review in....well I didn't really keep track of time considering I'm still stuffing my face. HEY IT'S THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING SO DON'T JUDGE ME!!!! Now as I was saying, the next person up on my list of people to rave about happens to be Nevea Lane (or as I like to call her 'Techy' because chick is a tech genius. I'm talking Geek Squad status. Calm down that was a compliment) Now Nevea is known for her...shall we call them escapades? I think we shall since I might end up hearing a story that I don't wanna hear if I call her...escapades anything other than escapades. Anyways back to the subject at hand. Nevea's tales never disappoint and this one didn't either. I think I will deem this a modern day fairytale complete with a Knight In Shining Armor who just happens to come with a sexy Romanian accent and an instant attraction to our heroine Ronni Cadell. When Ronni's business takes a nosedive she has corporate raiders knocking at her door quicker than she can say "Coo coo cachoo" along with the corporate raiders she has a mother that just won't knock off trying to get her married off and knocked up (yeah the word play there is pretty clever eh? I like to toot my own horn from time to time.) In comes Mr. Lucian Covaci, he's tall, dark, handsome and (wait for it, wait for it) Interested in getting a piece of Ronni's business. He has every intention of doing just that until he shows up at her charity event and lays eyes on the beauty. From there he finds himself free falling and unable to stop it. Under the pretenses of taking a tour of her company, something he wins at the charity auction, Lucian goes out of his way just to get closer to Ronni. The question is will Ronni accept the sexy Romanian's advances or rebuff him after finding out what he was originally intrigued by? I wish I could answer that folks but you have to read the story and find out for yourself. I read, I find out and now I'm sitting here trying to figure out exactly what I have to do to get myself a Lucian. Maybe Techy knows some people who know some people (shrug) I shall ask. In the meantime (wait for it, wait for it)  GO GET THE DAMN BOOK.

Life in Two Parts by Janet Eckford

HIYA FOLKS!!! Yes its me again. Tired of me yet? If you are I want you to take a moment and consider that fact that I don't care if you're tired of me because I'm not tired of me and that's all that matters if that makes any sense. Yeah the word ME is really repetitive above isn't it? Okay the mildly insane ramblings of Nikki are done. Now lets examine that word repetitive shall we? There are many things we can repeat; words, actions, amazing food recipes, (I know that was random just follow me here okay?) but we can never repeat a day, hour, minute...or can we? What would you do if you got the chance to repeat a moment, just one moment that could've changed your life forever? Augusta Johnson had lived a full life, had done things and had been places that most people never got the opportunity to and she had no regrets, or so she thought. Having a Sidhe Prince on your ass constantly offering you the chance at a second life is a good way to change your perspective on things so when Augusta finally decides to take Prince Daire up on his offer to turn back the hands of time and give her just one night in his arms he jumps at the chance to show her what they've both been missing. Has Augusta gotten in over her head? Now I can't tell you people the story but I can say that you won't be disappointed. I, myself, personally happen to love Janet's (or as I like to call her 'The crazy Californian') stories. She has a way with detailing, bringing emotions to the simplest sentences that you feel like you're apart of the tale she's weaving. And lets not forget the fact that sometimes she goes where everybody else is afraid to. If you don't know what I mean by that then take yourself to her blog at http://janeteckford.blogspot.com and read through her Halloween extravaganza. Be warned, it is not for the faint of heart people. Besides her ability to make creepy stories EXTREMELY creepy (don't worry that's a compliment that she'll take and probably do that really scary evil laugh to. Trust me. I heard that laugh) Janet is a master at pulling you into whatever world she has created so do yourself a favor and...(oh ya'll knew this was coming) BY THE DAMN BOOK!

Tear Jerker #2: One Night Forever by Marteeka Karland

The world is full of assholes people. Wait, that didn't come out right! I meant the world is full of people who ACT like assholes. Wait, I don't think that came out right either. I meant...Oh forget it! Ya'll know what I meant dammit! Anyways I know one thing Teeka is damn good at is putting at least ONE asshole in every book and making you HATE him so when something inevitably bad happens to said asshole you get to cheer and clap your hands. What? Is it just me who does that? Well she did it again but see you can't dwell on the asshole for too long after getting a look at the hero because...yeah...um....yeah its kinda hard to focus while looking at dude's ass on the cover over here so ya'll gotta excuse me. Now as I was saying. Teeka has done it again! Much to the surprise of a quite a few she produced a story that taps your heart BEFORE it taps your panties this time. What? I'm just saying that this is rare. Teeka's known for her...shall we say um...damn I don't really think I have a word for her stories besides risky, racey, hotness. Yeah those describe her tales well enough, I think. Don't get me wrong. Teeka brings the romance with the best of them. That just usually comes a little AFTER you see the heroes and heroines tearing up the sheets like it's mating season out on the Serengeti. (I LOVE YOU TEEKA!) Anywho its time for me to let you guys in on what was so sweet about this particular short. Ariel Wilson has caught her asshole of an asshole whose a SUPREME asshole boyfriend Tom in their bed with her best friend. Outraged yet? Oh it gets worse. Ariel had been coming home to tell Tom the good news of her pregnancy. Yeah I know now is the time where you wanna find a bat and start breaking some shit right? Well Tom isn't dones being an annoyance. He decides that despite Ariel leaving and dumping him that he has to try and bully her into coming back. The way he does that? Oh he guns the engine on his asshole mobile really REALLY loud in the neighborhood Ariel's walking through to get to her sister's house. What Tom doesn't realize is he's depriving Damien Carter of sleep and well Damien ain't having that. So after scaring the little jackass off Damien--who by the way is just damn fine--introduces himself to Ariel and walks her the rest of the way to her sister's house. Ariel soon learns that the two are friends and work at the same clinic. Now down the line we get to see how Ariel's pregnancy has progressed but we also learn her fears of being a new mother and her reservations about doing it alone. Surprisingly enough she learns that she won't have to worry about either after long because Mr. Carter--you know that fine dude whose been watching her--wants her and her soon to arrive daughter. I shall leave you guys on this note, GO GET THE BOOK!!! GO GO GO GO!!! NOW!!!

Tear Jerker #1: Wynter's Blossom by Elle D. Hayes

OMG OMG OMG OMG. I can't even play around with ya'll on this one because DAMN JUST DAMN. I've been waiting MONTHS to get my hands on EDH's first novel in her The Unity Pack series and I gotta say THIS WAS AMAZING! OMG OMG OMG I fell in love with EVERY main character in this book from Pops to little bitty adorable Summer. I had my head BURIED in this story ALL DAMN DAY yesterday people. ALL DAMN DAY. Because I just couldn't stop reading. This story reminds you of why you love ROMANCE. It reminds you of why you love GOOD MEN. It reminds you of why you love BABIES and it damn sure reminds you of why you love that crazy old ornery dude you call GRANDPA. (Yah know that one with no filters and no shame? Yeah that one) This story was just (sigh) It makes you do that throughout every single chapter. Alright enough with my gushing. Time to get down to business. (Yeah I really tried to keep a serious face while saying that) Sarah Ericksson has had a hellish year. After losing her father--a well known enforcer for the werewolf community and beloved friend--Sarah's brutally attacked by a rogue werewolf and left pregnant with just herself and her younger sister Shiloh. Shiloh unlike Sarah--who is fully human-- is half human and half wolf but ALL protective of Sarah and their new addition to the family, baby Summer. Sarah hasn't had a day where she regrets her daughter but her fear for her life, Summer's, and Shiloh's is what prompts Shiloh to take the advice left by their late father and find a strong pack to ask for asylum among them, for safety. Enter Wynter Grey--otherwise known as Wyn or Alpha to the Unity Pack--after checking emails he finds the request and being the man and wolf that he is he's disturbed by the fact that Sarah's been harmed the way she has and that she doesn't feel safe. He admits the sisters and baby Summer without a second thought. The problem? When Wyn and a few of his VERY large and VERY intimidating pack enforcers--wolves with the soul job of taking care of threats to the pack--show up and Sarah's doorstep she's scared as hell. Not long after that Wyn learns that this beautifully created but emotionally damaged woman is his mate and knows he has to tread lightly. He also knows that Shiloh and Sarah both want to find their place among the pack, a pack full of nothing but males by far, so he gives Shiloh the position of the first female enforcer and asks Sarah to be his acting Alphaya under the guise of getting her comfortable as the female leader. Watching the relationship play out between these two tugs at your heart. Wyn's the type of man little girls dream of growing up and marrying in a Cinderella type way. The way he interacts with baby Summer, forming a special bond so Sarah knows that he accepts Summer and wants to love her just as much as he wants to love her Momma has to be one of the BEST parts of the book. Watching Sarah take the confidence back that she had lost, watching her take steps towards venturing out and taking charge in the pack  is something else that tugs at the heart. But watching Wyn love her so hard and so good (No I don't mean the baby making scenes get your head outta the gutter nasty) is what pulls you into the story and makes you pout when it ends. In the midst of these two you have a loveable old wolf Ellis Hargrave, also known as Pops, who enjoys dropping some deep stuff on the younger pups every now and again but is too stubborn to understand that his own mate Neenah BigRiver is right in front of his face. (I still feel pouty about that fact that I won't see his debut until a later date but since its worth the wait I can't complain too much) Then there's Chazske Nakota and his byplay with Neenah's grandaughter Leah that has you hanging on the edge of your seat in anticipation. All I know folks that if you don't LOVE this story, these characters, and Elle's writing style by the time you're done, THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU!!!! SO GO GET THE BOOK AND FALL IN LOVE WITH LOVE LIKE I DID!!!!

At Last by Billy London

Lemme just start off the top by saying I love Billy. She's just damn adorable from that Brit accent (if you listened to blog talk then you know) to that very quirky sense of humor but in case some of ya'll didn't see past that sweet innocence that she wears so well. Yah know the one that screams "I'm goofy and its inevitable that you love me!" (Yeah that one) I need for you to know and understand that under all of that lies a FREAK!!!! (Yeah Billy's gonna get me but I couldn't help myself) Now I shall prove to you why I feel as such. Exhibit A) At Last. Oh people this book--just as all of Billy's stories--had IT. That IT that pulls you in and you CAN'T put the kindle down until the characters are done with YOU. That IT that'll have you searching for another story so you won't feel so empty over the next few days. Yeah THAT IT. Now Billy's storylines (just as all of the ones at BTP) are always tight and very enjoyable to watch unfold. This one was no different. The comedic timing, the moments where you wanna go "awwwwwww" and last but not least it had what Jayha likes to call "THE HOTNESS." By now I'm used to my peoples putting the EROTIC in these novels and doing it well but Billy shocked me ya'll. I've read all her other works from An Old Cake Tale to Put Out The Zombie but I can say that the er...baby making scenes were all amazing but not as intense (well at least not to me) as they were in this particular story. Might have something to do with the phone sex scene eh Billy? Oh now that I have your attention with that little tidbit I should tell you a bit about the story now shouldn't I? Well here it goes. Courtney Phillips has been pining away after her friend Chris for a while but what she doesn't realize--until she gets one random email--is that Chris' friend Ryan Klark has taken a notice of her. Their unconventional but very enjoyable to watch relationship starts through daily emails (that had me rolling off the bed) after Ryan decides its a good idea to thank her for a compliment that she didn't even give him directly. Soon after that the pair find themselves unable to go past a few days without talking to one another and it spirals into Skype and phone calls. As this happens the conversations get a bit...shall I say deeper? (Yes, I think deeper is a good word.) Which prompts Ryan into wanting Courtney as way more than just a buddy to listen to or look at across a webcam. Things between the two grow even more when he returns home to take an apprenticeship with a well known photographer and to get closer to Courtney. I shall not say how close but I WILL say that I needed an icepack and a fan on after reading some of those scenes people. All I know is Billy is now on my list of freaky people in the group and that's saying a lot becauase my folks at BTP are no light hitters when it comes to the sex. Anyways when you need to read something funny, sweet, and hell is hot kinda hot, At Last is where you need to look!

Once and Again by Dréa Riley

Okay so we all know Nikki's biased when it comes to her Twin. (Yes I admit that) But see I wouldn't be biased if said Twin wasn't so damn good at bringing a story to life. Since I have first hand knowledge from working with her (Look Twin I'm about to plug "Talking Dirty") after our amazing work on our first duo together in our book "Talking Dirty" I know for a fact how much she puts into a story. HER ALL PEOPLE. HER ALL. I watched this work come to life for her and though at times she felt discouraged or that she couldn't get it right I and a few others were there to stick our collective foot in her ass to get her started again. I love my sister. ADORE HER but if a story she wrote sucked I'd tell her. This is soooooo not one of those times. No this time people I'm taking you deep into the mind of Drea Riley (Since I'm here mini I can do that because I know her and whatnot.) Let's get started shall we?
I love my romances. The ones that make you sigh or tear up every so often because they're just that sweet, just that heart warming. Well Drea is damn good at bringing that to the table and she more than brought it with "Once and Again." Trapped in a cosmic romance that literally crosses dimensions the love is so deep between these two, James and Antoinette have been set to repeat their lives and cross paths in many different lands, cultures, and races until their destiny to be together is fulfilled. Now folks I dunno about you but this sounds damn good. They repeat this cycle until finally they end up in present day when Antoinette--now a contractor--is hired by James to work on his old plantation home that he desperately wants renovated. The attraction is instant but delayed because neither likes the acute sense of Deja Vu they get while near the other. Sadly for them the Mississippi heat and a certain cosmic world jumping meddling old friend by the name of Beau won't let them avoid what's transpiring for long. All I have to say folks that if you want a well thought out story executed with the skill of an NY best seller's list type of author than this is the book for you. There are moments in here where Drea takes you into their souls so deep, their memories from previous lives, their underlying love for one another that you'll have to pause a minute and go "Damn that's genius." (Shrug) That's my personal opinion and yes I've admitted to be biased but I'm telling you from experience that I ain't never (Yeah it was serious enough for me to use ain't) had a story take me to the place where I want the type of love that transcends time and place, surpasses cosmic levels and makes me wanna find that special someone very soon. Do yourself a favor. GET THE DAMN
BOOK.

Wolfwitch by Shirelle Higgins

I’m not normal…Okay wait, that came out wrong. Or did it? Because really I’m NOT normal but I think we established that a long time ago didn’t we folks? What is the point of me repeating it? Oh well since I’m not normal I don’t like normal books. No I like my stories EXTRAORDINARY. I like it when an author takes something and RUNS with it. When was the last time you read something like that? Oh I’ll tell you when. EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU READ A BTP BOOK. (Yeah I said it) So you know where I’m going with this don’t you? If you’re a slow learner let me spell it out. Wolfwitch by Shirelle Higgins. Oh yes my friends this book is far from normal but so damn good that it’ll make you pause and change your whole reading spectrum.
Well Nikki what was so good about it? I shall tell you. We have an age old fight here folks. The Vamps vs. Werewolves. Did I get your attention? Good now sit there while I get deeper into this tale. When Bobbie finds herself used like a chew toy for a rogue werewolf it lands her smack dab in the middle of the paranormal community. The problem? She CAN’T shift like the rest of her pack and the only thing that’s stopping them from killing her is the fact that she was “destined” to be mated to the head Alpha. Since the Alpha is also an EXTREME asshole this proves to be an issue also. Every full moon Bobbie is reminded of the fact that she’s a freak among what has been deemed “normal” and every day she lives under the abusive rule of the asshole Alpha.
Now to cap off her lovely existence she has some crazy—but severely gorgeous—Vampire trying to use her in a hostage exchange for something called a “Wolfwitch.” If her life wasn’t already a string of unfortunate events she’d ask how she managed to get herself into this situation.
James thought his goal was a simple one. Take that asshole Alpha’s mate and use her as a bargaining chip to get the “Wolfwitch”—a rare once in a generation breed of shifter who holds the fate of were-kind in her hands. What James doesn’t know is Bobbie is not only fed up with being used by everyone but she’s also said “Wolfwitch.”
Exactly what happens next when these two learn that little tidbit? Tsk, tsk my friends you shall have to go get the book to find out. It’s a bumpy ride but it’s also a damn good one.

Windows by Billy London

Gangsters. Exactly what does this word make you think of? The Godfather? Goodfellas? The Sapranos? (wince) I shouldn’t have mentioned that one, especially after the “incident.” What about Scarface, huh? Does it inspire thoughts of the Tommy gun or cinderblocks? Maybe it makes you wanna go “I’ll have you sleeping with the fishes” in a really, REALLY bad Italian accent. Um…by the way I can’t be the only one who does that right? I’m just saying everybody has a moment where…Okay nevermind. I’m trying to make a point here. When I used to think of gangsters, ROMANCE never once crossed my mind afterwards. Not until Billy London or as I enjoy calling her—Billy oh Billy my Londonite friend. (GRIN)
I’ve read HUNDREDS of romances. Everything from old school historical to supernatural to your everyday story but folks I have NEVER read anything with gangsters and when I finally broke into the world of clean up calls and making people disappear without a trace…well I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. This book was some of everything that I love in a story; comedy, great dialogue, hot loving, and GREAT romance. (Sigh) Gina and Nick make you pause and think about what love is, what it truly means to give and receive from a special bond between two people. I sound like a big mush head but I don’t care this story will do it to ANYBODY. Alright enough of my blubbering, perhaps I should tell you a little about it then.
Best friends for ten years, Nick and Gina were moving around that very precarious line. (The one where you love you best friend as more than a best friend but you can’t tell them because you’re scared as hell that it’ll ruin what you already have. Yeah that line.) That line and a lot of other lines get crossed and crossed again when Nick finds out that instead of coming to him for help Gina tries to get out of debt but ends up in another very precarious situation. (The one where you borrow money from a bunch of thugs to pay some bills because you really need to then you find yourself unable to pay said money back and said thugs aren’t too pleased about that considering they want said money back and quickly. Yeah that situation.)
Gina doesn’t think Nick could do anything to help to begin with but how wrong she is. See the Da Cavaneze name has far more power than she believes, ties stronger than she knows and a love for her the runs deeper than she realizes. When Nick is finally able to show her exactly what he feels and tell her how long he’s wanted to make her his everything seemed to be going down the perfect path until his mother reveals EXACTLY what the family name means to Gina.
In this tale of ups and downs along with sporadic funnies and whispered sweet nothings you see a friendship grow into something far more, something that many long for and only a select few get; a soul mate. When Billy wrote this there was EMOTION behind it. They weren’t just words, there was a deeper MEANING. What would you do for love? How far would you go to protect those you love? And how hard could you love someone even if they weren’t who you thought they were?
If you haven’t read windows then you need to because SERIOUSLY IT’S JUST THAT DAMN GOOD. Why the hell are you still here? GO GET THE BOOK!!!!!

Walk Softly and Carry A Big Lick by Jeanie Johnson and Jayha Leigh

Okay so I have no time to tease ya’ll on this one because honestly it was so good I’m bouncing around just writing the review for it. So here we go. Who doesn’t hate being stuck next to an asshole at the most inopportune time? Who doesn’t hate being stuck next to and asshole period? If you’ve never stopped to consider this than my friend you are probably THE asshole that everybody hates being stuck next to. HEY HEY HEY don’t get upset with me! It’s the truth! Don’t believe me?
Fine, I have a question. Has anyone ever decided that they hated you so much their only option was to commit murder or get the hell off the plane in a layover? Oh, I see. This HAS happened to you. Then SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN SO YOU CAN SEE THE REST! Now where was I? Eshe Nada was on a few missions. One, she needed to stop her twin sister from committing a good ole fashioned “murder-death-kill.” Two, she needed to stop HERSELF from committing a good ole fashioned “murder-death-kill.” And three, she needed to get to Brazil so she could watch her best friend marry the man of their dreams.
And when the plane finally touched ground and she was able to cuss THE asshole that her sister abandoned her to be with, the last thing Eshe expected was one of the most panty dropping-make you wanna scream just ‘cause he’s that fine-“I’ll fulfill every dream you ever had and make you realize that you have some more unfulfilled dreams”-alpha male to come to her rescue. Of course once it happened she had no complaints to voice considering that Enéas Roraima had to be the BEST pick up service she’d ever had in her life!
Oh Nikki tell us more! Please, please! (Sigh) I would, I REALLY would but then that’d ruin all the fun of you GETTING THE STORY FOR YOURSELF, now wouldn’t it? SO GO AND GET IT!!! GET IT!!! GET IT!!! GET IT!!! (Yes, I am pumping my fist in the air right now) You could deprive yourself of this hilarious, heartwarming, short that will have you on your side and wondering where you can find a hot Brazilian of your own OR you could get that thought outta your head and go ENJOY!
